Results from recent studies suggest that CBD may provide a safe, powerful natural treatment for many health issues.

Many people are adopting the usage of CBD products. In this post I want to discuss why CBD could be a great solution for effective workouts. Let’s cover 3 reasons as to why you should consider using CBD before your workouts.

1. CBD Relieves Pain

We can conclude with a reduction of pain in the gym. Your workouts will feel less strenuous. Giving you the ability to lift with more intensity.

Studies have shown that CBD may help reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters. (study).

Less inflammation is a good thing when working out. Less discomfort equals much more smooth and enjoyable workouts.

It’s clear, I shouldn’t have to go any deeper than this. Less pain = better workouts. Also, CBD could play a role in better recovery, which is critical for coming back to the gym with more strength. With more strength, you can continue to progress on your lifts, which means more size and better aesthetics.

2. Reduces anxiety

If you ever get anxious like me. You could be losing on gains. More anxiety and stress can cause elevated levels of cortisol. Increasing your cortisol levels can suppress T secretion (study). Meaning with higher cortisol you will have less intensity and valuable testosterone in your body that you will need for muscle growth.

Stress management is essential for overall well being. It’s certainly critical for muscle development. So CBD oil can reduce anxiety which is great for keeping cortisol low. Also it can potentially help you if you’re also socially anxious. Social gatherings can become much more enjoyable.

Also I find with less anxiety, particularly in the gym, I just enjoy the process. I feel much more present in the gym and I can give each rep the full mind to muscle concentration it needs for optimal contraction.

3. Benefits your heart health

The studies say that strength training can protect people with high blood pressure from all-cause mortality (study). So by doing strength training in conjunction with the CBD products you are doing your heart health a service.

CBD reduces oxidative stress. Which can cause muscle atrophy. The evidence that connects oxidative stress to signaling pathways contributing to disuse muscle atrophy (study)

For example, one study found that treatment with CBD reduced oxidative stress and prevented heart damage in diabetic mice with heart disease (study).


There is no substitute from giving 100% to your workout program and giving your body adequate rest combined with proper nutrition. These are the main things you should focus on. However, I believe with the addition of CBD you could see lot’s of great benefits.
